All those applicants who wish to obtain Domicile Certificate in Bihar must visit to the concerned Revenue Department. A Domicile certificate is generally issued to prove that an applicant is a permanent resident of that particular state from past 10 years.

 A residence/domicile certificate is usually used to obtain various benefits which are offered by the state govt. This certificate is very useful to avail many benefits such as to reserved seats for quotas in educational institutions and other job opportunities in govt and non govt sector. The domicile certificate proves that the person bearing the certificate is a domicile or resident of that state by which certificate is being issued.

Application Process:
A person who wish to make the domicile certificate must apply for the application form. An applicant needs to fill the form in a prescribed format along with the supported documents.One can get the application form from the concerned authorities such as Revenue Department or Tehsildar office. 
To obtain  domicile certificate you are required to produce the residence proof which states that you are permanent resident of Bihar state. Along with the form the person is required to attach some important documents list and these documents should be attested with the gazetted officer or can be issued by the district tehsildar.

Once you submit the information, then a 4 digit code message will be delivered to the applicant on his given mobile phone for verification. After that person can collect his/her certificate from the concerned circle office on the given date. 
Applicants are suggested to bring the receipt and photo-id card with them for proof. There is a fixed time limit for providing each of the public services and the applicants can also know the status of their application by logging on the website.
